Anderson produced this garbage. \u00a0Constantin financed\u00a0<em>DOA: Dead Or Alive<\/em> for $30 million and tapped the German tax shelter fund\u00a0VIP Medienfonds 4 for additional coin.\u00a0 The company mitigated their risk on this stinker from global pre-sales to to distributors.<\/p>\n<p><em>DOA: Dead Or Alive<\/em> was completed in 2005 and was set for a release in late 2006 in most global markets.\u00a0 The Weinstein Company acquired US distribution rights in 2005 through\u00a0their\u00a0genre label Dimension and first set a September 8, 2006 release.\u00a0 As the release date approached, the Weinsteins began to move the pic all over the calendar.<\/p>\n<p>While the US release was bouncing from date to date, <em>DOA: Dead or Alive<\/em> began to flop in market after market.\u00a0 Constantin distributed in Germany to a poor $508,715 and the overseas cume stalled at just $7 million across numerous distributors.<\/p>\n<p>After <em>DOA: Dead Or Alive<\/em> tanked overseas, The Weinstein Co. eventually set a release for June 15, 2007 and gave the film the least amount of effort they were contractually obligated to give.\u00a0 It was booked into only 505 theaters with blink and you miss it advertising and was not screened for critics.\u00a0 <em>DOA<\/em> pulled in\u00a0an awful\u00a0$260,713 with a $516 per screen average &#8212; placing #18 for the weekend led by <em>Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer<\/em>. \u00a0It was dropped from all but 98 theaters\u00a0in its second weekend and fell a huge 91.9% to\u00a0$21,029 and closed its brief run after three weeks with\u00a0just $480,813.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Genre(s): Action Directed By:\u00a0Corey Yuen Written By:\u00a0J.F.
