‘Memory of a Killer’
FOX is betting on a star-studded lineup of freshman series, including the Josh Charles-led Best Medicine and the new Fear Factor reboot hosted by Johnny Knoxville. The network appears to be doubling down on this even further with Memory of a Killer, the new thriller starring Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli. Based on the book De Zakk Alzheimer (“The Alzheimer Case”) and the 2003 film of the same name, Memory of a Killer follows copier salesman Angelo Flannery (Dempsey), who leads a double life as hitman Angelo Doyle. However, as his two lives begin to mesh, and danger arises for his pregnant daughter Maria (Odeya Rush), a lot could be at stake. The series’ potential lies in the dynamic between Dempsey, whose authentic portrayal of two completely different personas grounds the show, and Imperioli, who resurrects his innate ability to deliver on his Sopranos, mob-like energy through the role of Dutch, Angelo’s head honcho. The two-night premiere of Memory of a Killer begins on FOX Jan. 25 at 10 p.m. ET.
