Due to the shorter length of photo captions, and having additional below-the-fold metaboxes that would benefit from being seen as much as possible, Meta#7757 originally requested that the content field for photo posts be shrunk. Dotorg-13998 changed the starting height of the editor. However, core's editor-expand script has a hardcoded 300px minimum height that would kick in whenever it had to recalculate the editor height after content removal (deletion or backspace). Which would always cause the editor to increase in size.

The editor-expand feature is filterable, so it just needs disabling.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved the photo editor’s content area behavior: it starts at a compact height and can resize automatically as content changes.
    • Prevented the photo editor from expanding through the standard editor expansion setting, while leaving that setting unchanged for other post types.

Explain Change →

Walkthrough

The photo content editor now uses a fixed height of 80, initializes TinyMCE settings when needed, and enables autoresize. The admin class also disables editor expansion for photo posts.

Changes: Photo editor behavior

The height adjustment now applies only to the content editor, uses the integer 80, ensures tinymce settings are an array, and enables wp_autoresize_on. The wp_editor_expand filter is registered to disable expansion for photo posts while preserving the incoming setting for other post types.

Explanation

The title "Photo Directory: Preserve shrunken height of content editor" matches the main change. The raw summary and objectives show the PR keeps the reduced starting height of the photo-post content editor. It does this by disabling WordPress core's editor-expand feature through a new disable_editor_expand method hooked on init, which returns false for the photo post type. The title is specific, names the plugin, and describes the primary intent without noise.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 66.67% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 3 functions across 1 files.

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
