Professional portrait of Althea Erickson

Althea Erickson

Public Policy & Nonprofit Leadership Expert

Althea Erickson is Co-Director, Advocacy & Policy for the National Arts Policy Alliance, which is dedicated to building collective power among arts workers to win economic rights and security for all. She is a policy, research and advocacy professional focused on labor and social protections for the self-employed, with over 25 years experience starting and leading advocacy teams in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She previously served as Vice President of Global Advocacy & Impact at Etsy, and Advocacy Director at Freelancers Union, in addition to working as a community and campaign organizer for various grassroots advocacy organizations. National Arts Policy Alliance (NAPA) brings artists and creative workers together to build collective power and win policy change that advances economic rights and material benefits for all. NAPA provides the organizing, policy, and narrative infrastructure needed to mobilize artists and creative workers as a powerful constituency for economic justice, working in solidarity with other movements for social change. Incubated within United States Artists, NAPA partners with organizations at the local, state and national level to advance shared policy campaigns and build a more equitable and just future for all.
