Welcome to Day 2 of the Amazon Prime October sale. After a barren past few years, this event has been surprisingly bountiful for Switch deals, from consoles to games and accessories. As always, we'll be keeping an eye on the top deals, keeping our fingers crossed for more price slices.
Right now, UK folks can get the Switch 2 console for £419 £354.99 at Amazon, a record low for Nintendo's latest console. Also save on Bundle deals with Nintendo Switch 2 + Animal Crossing: New Horizons for £425 £399 at Currys.
Over in the US my top pick right now is the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle for $549 at Amazon. (A bonus three months of Nintendo Switch Online really sweetens the deal).

Top US Prime Day Switch deals
Top UK Prime Day Switch deals
Good morning! Welcome to our Nintendo Switch Prime Day in October blog. We are here finding the very best Nintendo Switch deals for you – and we've already got off to a much better start than usual with a lowest-ever price on the Nintendo Switch 2 – it's got 15% off at Amazon UK!
For other discounts on consoles, games and accessories stay right here throughout the next two days and we'll keep you up to speed.
These sales events are usually tough to navigate. There aren't usually great deals on consoles, and we should know as we've been through years of Prime Day events and Black Fridays. But it is a good chance to stock up on games, which often have good offers on.
This isn't actually as true as usual today as not many games are discounted so far in the UK. Some titles are reduced, including some sports games – you can see them here – but there aren't the reductions on premium titles that we normally see.
Not all of us will be thinking about buying a brand new Switch console this Prime Day, for many of us it's a great opportunity to restock on accessories and games.
Joy-Cons are all fun and games, but for longer gaming sessions they can start to feel a little finicky, which is why opting for a more traditional style of controller can save you from the dreaded hand cramp. Any Zelda fans out there today? This one's for you, with 20% off this nifty glow-in-the-dark design.
Turtle Beach Rematch Legend of Zelda Wired Controller: £24.99 £19.97
Let's talk Switch games.
When Nintendo announced the return of Tomodachi Life, my sister and I were suitably excited for the endless hours of stupidity we could cook up. If you're a Nintendo fan, I'm sure you've seen the endless silly videos of Tomodachi players making celebrities (some are surprisingly faithful) and steering them into ridiculous situations. I can assure you that Tomodachi Life will give you hours of side-splitting laughter.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream: £49.99 £39.99
Okay, hear me out: this isn't the sexiest deal, but if you've been a Switch owner, you'll.be familiar with the frustration of deleting games because you've run out of storage. Thankfully, there's a nice 34% off microSDs this Prime Day (and as an extra perk, they're Nintendo-themed).
Is it as exciting as buying a whole new console? Not exactly, but it'll scratch the retail-therapy itch!
SANDISK microSD Card 256GB, Super Mario Super Star Edition: £62.99 £41.64
If you've rolled with us during Prime Days before, you'll know that BIG Switch deals are like finding a unicorn, so bear with us here.
While deals might not be mighty, if you're really looking for a fair saving, I'd suggest opting for a bundle. They often come with a popular game, so you can get to playing right from the get-go. This would be my pick if you're looking for a good bargain:
Nintendo Switch 2 with Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bundle: £425 £399
Not sure if you should make the switch (hehe) to the latest console? Check out our Switch 2 review to find out whether Nintendo's newest handheld is the right fit for you.
If you're looking to downsize, the humble Switch Lite might be a better option. It's a great gaming setup for cosy solo adventures, and it's the perfect companion for travelling. Think fluffy blankets, a mug of hot chocolate and shutting out the world for a Switch adventure.
Despite the hours of fun I've had with it, the OG Switch has its issues. For me, it's mainly to do with comfort. I find the Joy-Cons pokey and frustrating at times, especially if I'm playing something a little more intense than my usual Animal Crossing sessions.
If you've faced similar feelings, the Nitro Deck might be your saviour. Built for comfort and speed (their words, not mine), the Nitro Deck features remappable back buttons for a smoother gaming experience. Compatible with the Switch and Switch OLED, this accessory provides all the responsiveness and precision you need for longer gaming sessions (and no stick drift!!)
Did you know you can print photos from your Switch 2? I didn't either until our 3D printing whiz and resident photography queen Beth showed me the Instax's Mario-themed mini link 3.
In simple terms, you basically need to transfer images from your Switch console to your smartphone, and then use the necessary apps to send the images over to your printer of choice. It's a lot easier than it sounds, and Beth has made a great video to help you out along the way.
Think your Nintendo knowledge is up to scratch? Have a go at our Super Mario quiz and see if you're truly a Super Star.
And if you fancy a little break from Prime Day deals, take a look at this Mario optical illusion. Taken from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show, this classic staircase illusion raises the question: Is Mario running up or down the stairs? Lock in your answer before you check out the clip below.
Before the Switch 2 was officially launched, there were some wild concepts floating around the internet. While most were pretty fantastical, there's one design that still haunts my brain. The double-decker Switch.
RIP to a legend that never came to be. We still think about you, and all the other Switch 2 concepts that would have been cooler than the real thing.
Good morning to our US early risers! If you're looking for the best Switch 2 deal up for grabs, the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle for $549 at Amazon is a great steal.
We'll be on the lookout for US-focused deals, so stay tuned to get the latest on Switch price drops and sneaky savings to be found this Prime Day.
Game deals
I'm guilty of getting a little stagnant when it comes to gaming. I'll hyperfixate on one until I'm sick of it, never to touch it again. It turns out forcing niche celebrities to fall in love with each other on Tomodachi Life can get stale after a while – who'd have thunk?
So to save you from the same fate as me, here are some of my top picks to get out of a gaming funk:
Could gaming glasses be the next big Switch accessory?
Switch accessories aren't all about controllers and headphones – it seems like gaming glasses may be on the horizon.
Earlier this year, our video editor Beth got her hands on a pair of RayNeo gaming glasses, putting them to the test with her Switch. The Air 3s Pro AR glasses are built for gaming and casual use, putting your screen right in front of your eyes. It's trippy and takes a little getting used to, but once you've adjusted, they're a lot of fun.
Hop on the GTA hype
In the gaming world, all eyes are on Grand Theft Auto 6. While sadly it's not out yet (but not long to wait), why not relive the classics with this GTA trilogy set? There's something slightly sacrilegious about playing GTA on the wholesome Switch that appeals to me...
Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy Definitive Edition: $29.99 $19.99 at Amazon
Nintendo Switch 2 deals
A reminder of the best Switch 2 deals on either side of the Atlantic so far.
In the UK, the best deal is the Switch 2 console for £419.99 £354.99 at Amazon
In the US, there are no direct discounts. Our top pick is a bundle: Switch 2 + Mario Kart World for $549.99 at Amazon. The console alone costs $499, so the bundle gets you the game for $49.99 instead of $79.
Zelda Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 deal
The ambitious remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the most anticipated Switch 2 games of the year. It's almost guaranteed to cause controversy given people's fondness and nostalgia for the Nintendo 64 original – we've already seen strong opinions on what Nintendo's shown us so far.
If you want to form your own opinion before social media explodes with reviews, you can preorder the game with £5 off in the UK ahead of the 5 November release.
the s only £5 off, but even that's a surprise given that the remake of the iconic Ocarina of Time is one of the most anticipated Switch 2 games of the year. This is a preorder for release on 5 November.
Very has the same deal.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2
Switch 2 bundle deal
Speaking of pre-orders, the Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle is now available to order at Amazon US ahead of a 22 October release. It's actually pretty good value, getting you the game for just $29, plus 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online.
The game is a sequel to Nintendo Switch Sports and a spiritual successor to the classic Wii Sports Resort set on an open-world rendition of Wuhu Island. There are 12 main sport disciplines, support for local play for one to four players alongside online multiplayer modes and the ability to create custom avatars. I'll be interested to see how the Joy Con 2 mouse mechanics serve for the sports.
- Pre-order Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort: $529 at Amazon
Prime-exclusive Switch 2 game deals
Most of the Nintendo Switch deals that we've highlighted above aren't strictly part of Prime Big Deal Days, so they're available for everyone whether your a Prime member or not.
The exceptions are a few of the Switch 2 game deals in the US. One of the best is Capcom's Pragmata, which has a third off exclusively for Prime members.
What you can do if you're not a member is sign up for a 30-day free Prime trial. You can then cancel the trial before the subscription starts if you don't want the other benefits like games via Amazon's Luna platform.

Is it time to break up with your Joy-Cons?
Looking to level up your gaming experience? It starts with your controller.
While the humble Joy-Cons are a great option for multiplayer sessions, they can get a little irksome on long solo gaming missions. That's where the Nitro Deck comes in. Built for speed and comfort, this handheld controller features back buttons and an ergonomic design to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
Bundles are where it's at!
This year, Switch bundle deals are the best by far. While they're a little pricier than the console alone, they often offer a large chunk off popular Switch game titles (which are pretty pricey on their own).
With bundle deals, you can get straight to gaming and actually enjoy your new console. If you're stuck on what to pick, this deal on Mario Kart 2 is a great steal, saving $30 on the game and 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online.
A sneaky essential...
It might not be a very exciting purchase, but for those who know, it's a necessary one. The Switch is (quite literally) all fun and games until you run out of storage and have to decide which of your beloved games to sacrifice...
That's where the microSD Card comes in. Boosting your storage space so you can get down to gaming, these tiny saviours are well worth the investment. (Bonus, this one's Super Mario themed).
SANDISK microSD Card 256GB, Super Mario Super Star Edition: £62.99 £41.64
Game spotlight
There are some great Switch game deals this Prime Day, from Nintendo classics to family favourites.
Released this year, Resident Evil: Requiem is a treat for horror fans. A first of its kind in the RE series, players can switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game (although I doubt this will make things any less terrifying). I've been on the RE hype since seeing Zach Cregger's new movie, and can't wait to get my teeth into Requiem.
Go renewed to save a few
If you're looking to save some extra money, opting for a renewed console can be a great option. If you want to know the ins and outs of these models, check out our renewed console guide to see if they might be right for you.
Today you can save on the dinky Switch Lite for under £150. It's the perfect Switch option for cosy solo gaming sessions this autumn.
Switch memory card deal
Nintendo has not been immune to the AI-induced memory crisis, which has been putting up the prices of hardware and external storage.
Incredibly, this Sandisk Switch 2-branded card normally retails at $199, which would have sounded frankly ridiculous for a 512GB MicroSDXC not long ago. At least, there's a pretty hefty discount for Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days.
- Sandisk 512GB MicroSDXC:
$199$129.99 at Amazon
Weird deal alert for Mario fans
So this isn't directly Switch related, but I'm very intrigued by this, which as a massive 50% off.
It's one of those mini Bluetooth smartphone photo printers but with AR effects, Nintendo-themed templates and a Mario silicone case. And it's actually made by none other than Fujifilm, the iconic Japanese camera and film company.
It's mainly got good reviews, but there are very few of them, so if anyone has any experience with this please let me know what you thought!

The biggest Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals in percentage terms in the US are on these two games: Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Switch 2 and the Amazon-exclusive edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for the original Switch.
Both have 43 per cent off.
Oh, an Best Buy has Mortal Kombat Legacy for Switch 2 at half price.

US Switch 2 Prime Day deals recap
As for the US, the best deals remain the two bundles available at Amazon, both of them sports related in their own way. Your options are Mario Kart World, the flagship game that the console launched with last year, or the upcoming Switch Sports Resort. In the case of the latter, it's a pre-order, so you'll have to wait until 22 October for delivery.
With that I'm signing off for today, but we'll be back tomorrow to continue tracking the best Nintendo Switch deals through Day 2 of Amazon's Big Deal days. The links above are all working and the deals are still live as I sign off, so I hope you can find what you were looking for.

Good morning UK deal hunters!
Morning folks, welcome to day 2 of Amazon Prime Day!
As always, I'll be scouting for fresh deals all day, so tune in for price drops, bundles and helpful hints for all your Switch snagging needs.
While our US readers are slumbering, I'd like to spotlight the best Prime Day Switch deal for our UK readers. We've finally been blessed with a record-low reduction on the latest Switch 2 – this doesn't happen often, so it's worth swiping if you've been debating a console upgrade.
Let's talk games...
We've also seen some juicy savings on games this year, from Nintendo classics to new releases. Whether you want a solo gaming session or a vibrant party game, Prime Day has delivered the goods.
An accessory for gaming Super Stars
While the Switch's humble Joy-Cons are a great option for party games and cosy Animal Crossing sessions, they can be a little finicky when it comes to more action-based games. That's where I'd recommend a controller.
Built for long gaming sessions, these ergonomically designed accessories are perfect for levelling up your gaming setup and avoiding the dreaded hand cramp. My top pick would be this Turtle Beach Wireless Controller (major bonus points for its Super Star design).
Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Gaming Controller: £49.99 £32.97
Protect ya tech
If you're already the proud owner of a Switch 2, you might want to consider a carry case if you plan to take your baby on the road. They not only offer some protection for your console, but also handy storage for your games.
Some options even have a built-in charger, like this Belkin Switch 2 Charger Case, now £49.99 £36.99 at Amazon. With a built-in 10K Power Bank and storage for 10 different game cards, it's a no-brainer for your travels.
One for the storage hunters...
I'm sure many of you will be familiar with the frustration of your console running out of storage, forcing you into an emotional culling of past games to free up storage. It's a faff; it's not fun, but it can be fixed.
MicroSD cards might not be the coolest Prime Day purchase, but it's one you won't regret. Instantly providing more storage to your Switch, it's a great addition to have in your setup.
SANDISK microSD Card 128GB (mushroom edition):£34.99 £31.30
Amazon vs Smyths, who will you choose?
If you're looking for a great saving on the Switch 2, Smyths has just matched Amazon's price. The deal also includes a PowerA Slim Case for only £10 when purchased with the console. With free standard delivery, it's a one-up if you haven't committed to a Prime membership (but remember you can get a 30-day free Prime trial).
Level up your gaming experience
You haven't felt real comfort until you've tried playing Switch with a Nitro Deck. Built for long gaming sessions that require speed and accuracy, this fine-tuned Switch controller is the perfect accessory for gamers who want more comfort during their sessions.
With gyro and rumble capabilities, you don't miss out on the naked Switch experience, while swappable thumbstick toppers and remappable back buttons make the Nitro Deck customisable to your gaming style.
Gifting inspiration
Looking for a present for the person who has everything? I might have the perfect answer.
This Prime Day, you can get a nice little saving on Nintendo Switch Online memberships, allowing players to enjoy online multiplayer gaming and access to a library of classic games like Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario. Buy it for a loved one, or just as a little treat to yourself; I won't judge.
Nintendo Switch Online Membership (12 Months): £19.99 £17.99
Game spotlight!
By far my favourite recent release on Switch has to be Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. It's absurd, silly and wonderfully weird, making it the perfect game to unwind with after a long day of adulting.
My sister and I enjoyed creating a strange town of niche celebrities and forcing them to fall in love. (I promise in the context of the game it makes sense). Think The Sims if it were created in a fever dream – hours of side-splitting laughter guaranteed.

Smart glasses have been a pretty controversial topic in the news recently, but they can be a great way to level up your gaming experience.
Recently, our fabulous video editor Beth got her hands on the RayNeo Air 3s Pro AR glasses and put them to the test with her Switch. Built for gaming and casual use, these nifty glasses place the screen right before your eyes, taking gaming immersion to the next level.

Huge savings on this top Switch controller
It's not all about the consoles, some of the best Switch deals are all about the accessories. If you're sick of the fiddly Joy-Cons, a controller is a great option for a more comfortable gaming session.
The PDP Afterglow Wave Wireless Controller is a fan favourite for a reason.
