{"id":7923278,"date":"2026-10-07T15:01:52","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T21:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/?p=7923278"},"modified":"2026-10-07T13:26:49","modified_gmt":"2026-10-07T19:26:49","slug":"edge-of-lowry-building-foreclosure-aurora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2026\/10\/07\/edge-of-lowry-building-foreclosure-aurora\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank forecloses on notorious Aurora apartment building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A lender has foreclosed on a building within an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2024\/12\/05\/aurora-edge-lowry-apartments-closure-cbz-management-venezuelan-gangs\/\">infamous Aurora apartment complex<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Bank took ownership of the building at 1208 Dallas St. on Wednesday when no one else bid in a foreclosure auction.<\/p>\n<p>The structure was one of six buildings within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2025\/01\/10\/aurora-apartments-edge-lowry-tren-de-aragua\/\">Edge at Lowry<\/a>, an apartment complex that made national news in 2024 amid owner CBZ Management\u2019s claims that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2024\/12\/05\/aurora-edge-lowry-apartments-closure-cbz-management-venezuelan-gangs\/\">it had been taken over by Venezuela\u2019s Tren de Aragua gang<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CBZ took out a $2 million loan on the 1208 Dallas building in 2022, with U.S. Bank serving as trustee. U.S. Bank initiated the foreclosure process eight months later, in September.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Craig Schuenemann of Kilpatrick Townsend &amp; Stockton, who represented the lender, didn\u2019t respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The other five buildings within Edge at Lowry were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2026\/06\/18\/edge-at-lowry-aurora-sold-nonprofit-4-5-million\/\">purchased by a community organization\u00a0in June<\/a>.
