For an unabashed B-movie like this one, achieving the modest ambition of pulling off one killer horror scene is enough. Go to Full Review

For every moment in which it feels as if Nelson is meeting the desires of his thrill-seeking audience, there are so many more that land like defanged nothingness. In the end, Beware Boiúna’s title winds up acting as its own consumer warning. Go to Full Review

Boiúna perks up for two main reasons: the brio of Logan Marshall-Green as an avenging bad-boy brother and screenwriter Alan McElroy’s admirable decision to flip the switch halfway through the film. Go to Full Review

Overall, the film builds tension effectively and explores its characters’ personalities and motivations. However, some scenes feel unnecessary and could have been simplified to give the story greater focus. Go to Full Review

Anthony L 7 hrs ago Great creature feature See more Juandi 10 hrs ago This is exactly what you’d expect these kind of creature movies to be: mostly entertaining & not to be taken seriously. The ending sort of messes up the momentum but it is what it is. See more Prophet R 1 day ago Beware Boiúna is a solid enough creature feature. The Colombian Amazon makes for a great setting, and bringing the local folklore into the story gives the giant-snake premise a little more personality. It doesn't really bring anything new to the genre, though. Lots of jump cuts, familiar scares, people getting picked off one by one, and the usual female-survivor setup. Still, it moves along well, has some fun moments, and never really overstays its welcome. Nothing groundbreaking, but a decent watch for what it is. See more Diana F 1 day ago I really liked this movie. It was like 70’sTarantino merged with 70’s Jaws and created a snake monster movie. There’s other stories going on along the way that helps to keep it interesting too. See more Juan 2 days ago Thought the trailer sold this really well. The snake looked good. The movie is just boring. Like at least Anaconda was bad in a fun way. See more Mariah 2 days ago Pretty good for a low budget movie See more Read all reviews
