In this feature film based on the hit animated series, the third-graders of South Park sneak into an R-rated film by ultra-vulgar Canadian television personalities Terrance (Matt Stone) and Phillip (Trey Parker), and emerge with expanded vocabularies that leave their parents and teachers scandalized. When outraged Americans try to censor the film, the controversy becomes a call to war with Canada, and Terrance and Phillip end up on death row -- with only the kids left to save them.

Critics Consensus

Its jokes are profoundly bold and rude but incredibly funny at the same time.

As expected, the movie is crude in both look and content, but it does make some salient (and perennially relevant) points about the dangers of censorship and the responsibilities that come with freedom of choice.

The South Park film also broadened my understanding of what musicals can be. It’s not a genre that can tell only one type of story. It can tell any type of story and, when it’s as smart and beautiful as South Park, it can be magic.

Parker and Stone have made a career out of being decent animators, decent writers, and equal-opportunity offenders.

South Park Bigger Longer & Uncut is just as raunchy as the TV show. As for my review, I had an absolute blast watching this movie. Not only did it pack a well-done written story, along with clever writing and great character development, but South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is also packed with some great comedy & a soundtrack full of unforgettable musical numbers, with many of them actually being pretty catchy. Despite the animation looking basic, it still looks pretty good, especially during the musical numbers where it actually does look like a big Broadway show. Overall, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is one of the greatest animated movies of all time & is also one of my favorites. I'm going to rate this movie a 9.5/10.

Fairly entertaining, and often more funny than not, this movie suffers from being made too early in the show's development. It feels like some characters get more screen-time than they should, and others not nearly as much, regardless of how interesting they actually are. It has the charm of early 'South Park' humour, but it feels like it's trying to do too much in order to justify its being a movie rather than a regular episode. The songs are generally forgettable, if fun in the moment, but the commentary is all over the place, not yet showing the command Stone and Parker could display in balancing story and messaging...well...before it's flipped back around in the modern day with the show's all-messaging, no-character approach that is just GRATING to watch.

When I first started downloading songs as a kid I used to I have tracks like “Uncle Fucka”, “It's Easy, M'Kay” & “Blame Canada” downloaded along with random segments like when they say “fuck” in class. Nostalgic memories, it’s a classic.

So funny and nothing can hold back. It’s rapid pace, humor, violence, and obscenity. Best movie of 1999 and in my top three favorite movies
