  • Thompson is an armchair expert in virtually every area of entertainment media ... except for reality TV. (Unless it's "Jersey Shore.")
  • He has interviewed many prominent individuals in the entertainment industry, including singer-songwriter Laura Jane Grace and "Double Dare" host Marc Summers.
  • He doesn't have enough room in his apartment to store his perpetually expanding comic book collection.

Experience

Thompson Smith has been writing for Looper since 2022. During his roughly 15 years in the journalism and journalism-adjacent businesses, he has contributed to old-school newspapers, irreverent alt-weeklies, and digital publications. He's curated a portfolio of content covering topics ranging from superhero movies to the filmography of Steve Buscemi. He has also written multiple unproduced film scripts that have received positive feedback from industry professionals. When he's not delivering on entertainment news for Looper and TVLine, he routinely expands his collection of physical media.

Education

Thompson Smith has a master's degree in print and multimedia journalism from Emerson College.
