    Bio

Robert Staddon has been building websites for over 20 years and runs the web agency Abundant Designs. He keeps online platforms secure, fast, and working well together, and he’s happiest when he’s tracking down a technical problem in the code. Away from the screen, you’ll find him at the piano, playing strategy games with his kids, or enjoying some fresh air while pretending to know something about grilling.

    WordPress Origin Story

I started with WordPress around 2006 (back in the 2.0 days!) building custom themes for non-profits that needed sites they could manage themselves. I launched Abundant Designs a couple years later and WordPress has been at the center of my work ever since. I love how open source software provides a community-built platform that even small businesses and organizations can use for a professional web presence. The tech has changed a lot over the years, but my approach hasn’t: build it well, keep it running smoothly, and support those who use it every day.
