Fargo the TV series has, generally, shined brilliantly since its first instalment in 2014.
Now, three years after the last series, we’re getting another dose this year. And, furthermore, FX, the show’s US home, has announced its transmission date.
The plot of the show’s fifth season has been teased with the following questions: “When is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?”
Juno Temple plays Dot Lyon, a Midwestern housewife who is suddenly plunged back into a life she thought she had left behind. Jon Hamm plays North Dakota sheriff Roy Tillman, who’s been on Dot’s trail for years, while Joe Keery plays Roy’s son Gator and Sam Spruell appears as enigmatic tracker Ole Munch.
David Rysdahl plays Dot’s husband Wayne, with Jennifer Jason Leigh also appearing as Wayne’s CEO mother Lorraine, who is unimpressed with her son’s choice in a wife and spares no opportunity to voice her disapproval. Dave Foley plays Lorraine’s in-house counsel and top advisor Danish Graves, with Lamorne Morris and Richa Moorjani as a pair of local cops who take note of Dot’s erratic behaviour.
In the past, Fargo has aired on Channel 4 in the UK but at the moment there is no word to whether it will be showing season five.

Hope this makes it here. There was some debate here as to the quality of the last series so I’m interested to see what this series is like. It started off so strongly!

Agreed! The first two were so, so good; series 3 dropped off a bit; and four had its moments but was a bit of a mess

I agree 100%. Which is why I have profound doubts about a fifth season.
