Why should I use this plugin?

Count CWP shows live character, word, paragraph and space counts while you write in WordPress. It helps authors, editors and marketers stay within SEO meta limits, ad copy limits or editorial guidelines without copying text into another tool.

Does Count CWP work with the Block (Gutenberg) editor?

Yes, since version 1.1.0. The counts appear in the Summary panel of the post sidebar and update as you write. In the Classic editor they appear in a bar below the editor.

Where do the counters appear?

In the Summary panel of the Block editor, below the Classic editor, and below any HTML textarea field on admin screens, including custom fields from plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).

Can I choose which counts to show?

Yes. Go to Settings → Count CWP and turn character, word, paragraph and space counts on or off.

How are characters counted?

The character count leaves out HTML tags and whitespace, so it matches the visible text length. That is what you need for SEO titles, meta descriptions and other places with strict character limits.

Can I see word counts for existing posts without opening each one?

Yes. The Posts list has an All Counts column with word, character, paragraph and space totals for each post. Totals are calculated when the plugin is activated and updated whenever a post is saved.

Does this plugin slow down my site?

No. The counters run only in the WordPress admin while you edit content. They do not affect your public pages or your visitors.

Does it work with custom post types and WooCommerce products?

Live counters work on any admin screen with a standard text field or editor, including WooCommerce product descriptions. The All Counts column in the Posts list applies to standard posts.
